they're just more club oriented while lots of stuff from Balance were Spotify/radio focused.
Here is the thing most trance music is club oriented and I am not referring to the ambient stuff and even the older stuff which was slower in bpm is club oriented. This argument that EDM fusion is more club oriented I don't buy it for a second.

I mean this track is club oriented.

that's because you're not a DJ and does not have specific experience, certain stuff naturally works better in club environment. an average clubber does not care about the sophisticated drums, fluid melodic synths etc, they want something that appeals to their emotions openly, on a rather basic tension-release level - big snare build ups, simple drop-breakdown-build up-drop structure, loud bleepy synths, vocals etc

long story short, EDM does sound like EDM for a reason - that's the sound that has been a tried and tested and developed for many years to meet the masses requirements for dance music. it doesn't mean it's the best thing ever and you have to like it but it's important to understand the bigger picture
