Well, other labels have done it like Warner with Spinnin and for the same figure too.Why wouldn't it?
Isn't that we want ultimately for classics catalogue not to randomly disappear on Spotify just because a particular release has reached its contractual term with the existing label or they no longer exist to collect/pay royalties to heir artist's? Or risk with melody been recycled and it been released under a new artist name after they've changed a cord or two or nothing at all lmao, not sure if this was the case with Mo Chara / Rober Nickson - Spiral melody been ripped off by Ciaran/Ferry?
I'm just glad my favourite artist Paul Miller has already been approached by Armada campaign and not forgotten about when it comes to this topic & as a result Ascend was re releaed recently. Yeaah I agree this just gives them more excuse to remix a classic and re release new remix every year or so as clearly our scene has been running out of fresh ideas, this is their way to ensure the scene doesn't die off competely and if it does maybe they can release a house remix instead.
We don't hear new melodies like Steve morley sacred city 2008/2009 remix anymore its like 80% of producers forgot how to make trance with unique melody after the golden era passed and introduction of hammer trance started getting everyone's attention at the start like Photographer - Airport (trance 2.0) i feel like this track alone is responsible for why trance is the way it is today and rise of templates ever since.
Tbh I personally dnt trust any music streaming service/labels etc and this has always been at the back of mind, time to setup Plex media server using raspberry pie 4 or 5 with overheat protection or setup/invest in Nas if project pie fails.
