It wasn't the worst tune I've heard all year, but it was pretty close. Horrible generic track. It takes four producers to create a sound that is comparable to what an AI generator prompt can make nowadays. Same goes for that awful remix of OceanLab - Satellite by A&B. Truly shit being produced by these big names.

unlike A&B Satellite remix, I wouldn't call this one shit, it has its charm but also feels like a grotesque attempt to make a classic sounding tune. and it's pretty chaotic but that's natural due to the circumstances of its creating

I just don't see it. I would rather listen steroids or future trance compared to this track. The anjunadeep sound has been flat and lifeless for the past decade.

i did enjoy the youtube series where it showed them making it from scratch...very interesting. Its not a bad track - but i just cant stop laughing about Armin awarding himself his track as the track of the year haha...but i suppose its not the first time an Armin track has been number 1..

We had "For All Time", "Intense" and "Tuvan" as Armin's own Tune Of The Years. And the very first was "Clear Bue Moon". So it's not that often.
I find the service for dreamers more cringy, where it's almost every week an Armin tune. And usually a pretty recent one, not even a good classic. Oh well.

I sent Nina a reply to ask her play X marks the spot and funny enough no reply from her or the ASOT team. He has been in the top 10 for the past 22 years always. I think the people who like this track have really lowered their standards in music. It's just awful that lead/arp needs some serious work.

It's not even about the music, 3 of 4 guys behind the track are ASOT hosts, this is an official ASOT anthem. it could be twice worse yet it would still legally win the poll mate
Heard it once and will most likely never listen to it again, because it's definitely not my thing. However, calling it awful, disgusting etc is severly overreacting in my opinion. There are so many awful tracks out there and I don't think this is that bad.
Totally agree, although I get where it comes from:
- the track itself is rather provoking with these 'in your face' old-school trance elements combined with the concept of the modern ASOT anthem, so it's more of a love or hate thing
- almost every ASOT TOTY gets an extra portion of hate from those who care about the poll and are unhappy with the results

I don't know why, but I decided to give the new AvB album a quick listen on Soundcloud.
1. This track sounds like some other boring Talla 2XLC / Binary Finary rework of any trance classic ever. This is a popular trend. It even has that "ah" sample like in "Binary Finary - 1998" (to please the boomers I guess).
2. Main melody progression is kinda like System F feat. AvB - Exhale, but 100 times more boring and retarded.
Whenever I listen to this shitty EDM I always think of some fucking kids dancing around a Christmas Tree, or some fucking Barbie girl riding a pink car with this shit in the background. I HATE THIS CHEESE! I hate how this is still called fucking state of Trance!
Whenever I hear this I imagine Tomorrowland crowd waving their fucking flags, or some girls making hearthands (like in that meme) with duckfaces and Instagrams/TikToks turned on for recording 15 second-pointless-selfie-videos.
At least the soundcloud hashtag is "dAnCe
", and not trance.
