Well, quite surprising. If I will hear it without knowing who is behind it, I would rather say it's Richard Durand's or anyone else's from trance community.

What really sucks, that after so many years and a mental break, Hardwell still needs this "fucking hands up" xd Why won't you put your own hands into your bottom, man? xd

From the other side, there will be other remixes: Mau P is confirmed as official, Dillon Francis also showed his remix but no one said that this one will be released.

Pretty unexpected, if this is really Hardwell (but probably it is some ghost producer anyway). Loving that kinda Rank 1-ish breakdown. The rest is sort of generic, but still cool to have an energetic uplifting remix of this pop tune!

Taste is subjective :p, I myself have been listening to the Original non-stop for some reason.

Also, Hardwell "doing" UPLIFTING TRANCE? He's the last person I'd ever expect to produce this genre.
Meanwhile people of the likes of A&B can't get anywhere close to the genre even though they built their career around it.

Of course taste is subjective, I just wonder if there's a little too much excitement going on with this simply because a producer has made something in a different style other than what is expected of them. Totally fair enough if it's a banger for you guys. The vocal is an instant turn off for me however

Those are definitely three names I did not expect to see on this forum

Production aside, this track shows that most uplifting/vocal trance sucks because it's boring as shit and the singers are not good. If trance had vocalists as good as Ellie Goulding, the genre would be so much better.

I hear Alphazone in the climax of the instrumental. Not Cascada or Rank1, but freaking Alphazone

The hardwell one is indeed a typical steroid uplifter, boring. Not sure why he would jump into such a overly saturated genre…

The original though is praised for actually sounding quite 90’s without raping those nostalgic ideas. Where pop got slower and slower in the last decade, this is a surprise with 143 bpm.

Btw, I listened to loads of Cascada songs yesterday. Nothing wrong with a portion of nice cheese. There’s more besides trance.

The tune is catchy enough to make UK commercial radio 1% more bearable.

The mistake for most vocal trance in the past decade is having these wispy, vulnerable voices that sound like they're on their last legs. Every syllable feels overdone. Like an Instagram-fed deer wailing in a 6.2 scale earthquake. They sound as ethereal as Brian Blessed shouting down up Blisworth Tunnel.

Strong singers like Joanna Law, Polly Strange, Kate Cameron etc bring the space vibe and some believability to the message. Even Maria Nayler, who is half-mouse, is as smooth as silk.

I remember years ago Ellie doing an interview about how she'd been to America for the first time, and that upon her return, she felt "more edgy now". When I see her name or hear her voice I just think "mush". The miracle would be that Calvin chose Brian instead.

Spaceman, even though it sounds cheap now, felt pretty groundbreaking at the time - especially to my newb ass and some of my friends. Stuff that moved me towards trance.

This one might do that as well to a lot of people, but it's pretty unremarkable. These type of 2023 radio pop vocals just don't work well with trance, and this is not the first time I've written this. It's becoming a bit of a trend.

BTW despite the vocals being all this cheesy stuff, the 90s and 00s had plenty of those.
