OUT Calvin Harris feat. Sam Smith - Desire [Columbia]

He's done it again. This is less Classic Trance and more Generic Dance/Pop/Eurodance but I think it still fits.

The art for the single follows the same style as Miracle so I wonder if it's going to be an album full of Trance/Eurodance sounding tracks

I just don’t like Sam Smith his voice. It’s so whiny. And that flute-ish thing, also not something for me.

I liked Miracle, but will skip this one.

Never been a fan of Sam Smith's vocals myself either. I don't think the flute-y lead isn't that bad, but it does give me unwanted big room vibes. The rest of the song isn't that bad to be honest, the melody is pretty nice as well.

I vastly prefer Miracle over this one but it's not completely unlistenable at least.

The only, ONLY reason this and Miracle got such buzz (imo) is because "omg omg Calvin Harris of all people made something eurotrancy"

Imo the track isn't that good or even "fresh sounding", it's more of a novelty seeing a literal Pop producer make something like it.

I kinda get Cascada - Miracle / Everytime We Touch vibes since I heard this the first time. Seems way too inspired by something already existing.

I'm pretty sure Binary Finary will make a remix of this - and it won't differ from any of others made by them.
Also some tech trance upcoming artist will also try to impress the trance audience by remixing this crap.
Everything sounded fine until 0:41.

everything sounds off to me. like wrong,weird, no sync.

alot of modern trance that "tries" to sound oldschool has no unity/harmony of all the different elements, it doesnt fit together to me. its the wrong bassline with the wrong kick,with the wrong hats, with the wrong cymbals, with the wrong snare etc etc. it lacks a natural flow of things, its disjointed, robotic, copy-paste/drag and drop type of music.

ultimately it just sounds plasticky and wannabe to me.

Made me giggle as well, honestly.

Don't like that synth, don't like the vocals, don't like the track as a whole. I liked Miracle tho. It was fun and good for what it was.

I also don't like Sam Wills as much and the lead synth could be better. If it's an album tho maybe there's potential for some good stuff. We'll see.
Miracle was better indeed.
EDIT: Somehow I got addicted to the track and the lead synth. I guess it's annoyingly good?
