the whole album is incredible!!!
Mijmering starting off with a cheeky lil hark back to Friends of Matthew, is 10mins of pure genius. LSD or XTC is probably my fav track over all but love them all, the Moonman and Should be other standouts.

Thanks!! 😊 Glad you enjoyed it!!
The intro for Mijmering felt like the right track to introduce the album.

Just like NamelessYet, I'm also a young Chinese Trance enthusiast. I absolutely adore almost every track on this album, which is why—despite having known about this forum for a long time—I finally registered an account to share my thoughts. *Purchased a CD to show my support!
Heartfelt congratulations on the release and looking forward to more brilliant works from both Enigma State and Transtate Records in the future! ☺️
While waiting for "The Moonman" during past few years, I've been constantly replaying the Moonman Remix version of "Liberta". I wonder if Nathan drew melodic inspiration from this particular remix?

Finally back from a 2 week holiday. Ran to my PC, checked THE MOONMAN on my Pioneer X10 headphones and it's all I was hoping for :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

All those typical Moonman samples are in it indeed. The reversed kicks, hihats etc. SO FANTASTIC !!!!!! Very attractive and pleasant key too!

Yes it's obvious that it sounds like Moonman on purpose, and in particular Don't Be Afraid and La Liberta. :)

Emotions is fantastic too, the influence is screaming in my face I just cant put words to it. Thrillseekers? Tiesto?

Great album and congrats with this release!
I am also very happy to see a full breaks track (Essence of Life) in there and a beautiful breaks worked into Mijmering 👍🏾👍🏾
To me Mijmering almost feels like a breaks track with some 4x4 instead of the other way around.
Did it start out as a breaks track that you reworked?

My guess would be Ferry Corsten - Sublime (Thrillseekers Remix)
@No Return

Some of the early Rapid Eye stuff probably took influence on me with this track I think. It was a while back i started this track and then I only reworked it later in 2024.

So Mijmering, it was always going to be a 4x4 track. But, I wanted to do another 10 min journey track similar to Enigmatic and State of Mind.
You can tell that it took a similar structure approach as those two as its got the softer intro, before it leads in to the 4x4, and then at the end of the track, the 4x4 changes back to a softer outro.
When the right idea comes up I like to do it sometimes. Suprisingly these tracks always seem to be very popular amongst people :)

As the track progressed I just felt the breaks fit perfect, but it was always going to be a 4x4 track just like ive done with the other 2 mentioned tracks.

Glad you like it though! :)

Some really nice tracks on here! My fav is Mijmering, really lovely track! I noticed it did say Album Mix on Beatport so maybe a future single release for this one on the way? I know on Spotify the intro and the track are split up so.

My other favourites are Illuminate, The Moonman and Discover Way. I reckon Ferry would love The Moonman, he's been playing quite a few uptempo more classic sound stuff lately as well as the slower stuff and I reckon it could maybe fit in quite well. I also think this one sounds a lot like the Moonman Remix of Lovechild - Liberta in a lot of places :)

The opener is fantastic. Congrats on your first album release, i'm sure it was a labour of love. Happy that we have trance of this calibre returning to the scene. This should be the norm, not the rare moment it has become. I hope the support you get is a wakeup call to producers and labels.

Hard to choose a track of the week from the album, as so many good ones, but I've seen a few mention Wanting, and its personally one of my favorites too. Very UK influenced feeling track, with the balaeric undertones and lovely airy vocals. It's one of the more interesting tracks on the album I think. TOTW

I will write my reviews of the album tonight
Spend much more time writing this than my expect haha.

According to the playback records, I found I have listened to the album fully for 6 times in the recent days, some tracks like Essence of Life, Should, Elevate and The Moonman have played for more than 10 times. Saturday night, I wrote some reviews on streaming platforms for the album after listen it for 2 times and also for some tracks. However, now I am kind of dislike those reviews I have written, as I find myself always comparing the album tracks with some old classics or classic producers, trying to find some shadows of the old tunes, which makes me think myself impolite and disrespect.

The album is definitely a wonderful album, but it won't be so wonderful if it's only some "Ghost“ of classic tracks, there must be something more.

I think the answer lies in the riddle, it's like some Essence Sound of Trance. those sounds used to appear in some old tunes that we like and see as "Classic Trance", also appeared in works of Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Svenson & Gielen, Lange, Alphazone and many more. This album finds a way to combine them together again with a style of Enigma State.

That's also a question for me two years ago that I asked in the interview. When Waiting For You was released, I always thought "When Enigma State brings back the Classic Trance sound, can he create his own sound?". I think the album gives an answer, that is to sincerely present how the Essence Sound of Trance should be, also make a tribute to that old sound.

For the album tracks, it's hard to pick a favourite one. I think Essence of Life and Mijmering are two impressive tracks, the tracks are not fully filled, recalls me of the touch when I first heard In My Fantasy. Should is also one I want to mention, whose melody is my favourite and highly original I think.

Thanks again for the wonderful album, hope to hear more in the future, waiting for the arrival of my CD.

Thanks for the additional write up. Of The Essence means everything on this album tries to captures the true essence of Trance. It’s not polished to death or overproduced. It’s raw, it's emotional, it's honest. Every track has a piece of that core essence, whether it reminds people of a certain era, a memory, or just hits them the way real Trance should. The sounds are straight from the synths, no filter, no gloss, just pure feeling.
