Am I the only one who actually quite likes this as opposed to the original?
I mean the compression is terrible. but the arrangment/lead is cool and this one has a lot more drive without sounding broish.

Uhm...this is gonna be weird.
It's not bad actually. I liked it, expected much worse. It's nowhere near Red Woods when you take into account the alias, and it's nowhere near the original too - of course - but it's still decent. Like the riff especially, and the bassline is also good. Dislike: That short build-up to the climax. The climax itself is a bit weak for me, lacks a bit of drive, and the main lead might be a bit too sidechained.
The original was much nicer though, I still like it. In fact, it's amazing. It's not broish, the kicks are soft, but I'd just dance my ass off if I heard it live - the melody does it all! I don't think I can say the same about the remix though.

He uses his "trance alias" to remix a rather trancey Orjan Nilsen track. And the result is an EDM version. Strange.
The "tech-EDM" part isn't too bad, but it's too overly festivally for me. Comon', this is Between The Rays, a big modern melodic classic (for me). I don't like the claps in the breakdown. Makes it too Ummet Ozcan-ish.

This is basically what I’m thinking. I was hoping for something more melodic/atmospheric DJ Governor wise, but it still works overall. I think this will work great at festivals. Original is still the best, but this version is quickly growing on me.

This tribal festival intro sounds great! I really like the intro but yeah overall doesn't offer much.

I rarely agree with your track opinions but goddamn do I agree here. This remix fucking blows. A noisy, pointless downgrade both for the track and the alias.

I quite enjoy the percussion, but everything else, from the edm clap, to the riser, to the intro, that weird outro, is just meh in the best of cases. At least the break stays faithful enough to the original spirit of the song, but why would I want to listen to this mediocre take when I can just blast the original all day and night long!
Can't say I was that big of a fan of the original to start with... The melody lends itself to a more big-roomy style of track anyway, so this modern update doesn't sound too out of place in comparison. If anything, it sounds tighter and less sluggish.
