As some of you may (or may not) know. I took a massive hiatus from making music before jumping back in early 2020.
I'd lost most of my music from the early-mid 2000's and have been hunting down bit's and pieces of my back catalogue for a few years.

So I thought it would be fun if we had a thread where we can post our older material (and in an attempt to breathe some life into this forum!)

I appreciate a few of you have not been producing for long, but feel free to jump in as well.

So this is a track I only recently got the full version of back (Shout out to Calvin!) I'd previously only had a set ripped version from the Tranceaddicts Unite Mix from way back when.
He's also hooked me back up with the Endre remix of this as well, but sadly the file is a bit damaged and skips a lot. I might still upload it anyway at some point.

I was like 19 years old when I made this back in early 2003 and while I knew how to write and arrange music, I had absolutely no clue on how to mix a track properly (as you can no doubt hear)

Bonus:
I also found the original thread from 2003 on the old TA forums:

I have no idea what the [extended hifi version] nonsense is all about before you ask 😂
But it's great to see some of the old faces on there; Mart, Shepless, Endre, John O'Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Icone and all the rest - what a hotbed of talent that place was back then!

Anyway, enough of me - get posting your old tunes!

First ever experience I ever had with making electronic beats was from the music maker CD's found on boxes of cereal. They were surprisingly good and very fun. Got to splice the tracks with videos extreme sports clips, quite a cool and creative thing for a young lad to be doing at 14. Start putting ableton usb's in cereal I'd say.

I then bought a mac and found Garageband and I loved it. I have no idea why I didn't just learn it and do more, as I sat on the computer 80% of my days. I only ever exported one track and it was this lounge inspired track. Age was 15 or 16.

Yeah I believe you sent that over to me last year 😁

I made 2 of them. A vocal mix and a dub mix, but sadly it seems her legal team are not cool with remixes and they tend to get taken down whenever I put them up on Youtube or at least the audio gets blocked :(

I'm sure I've heard this one in a porno somewhere... 🤔😄

Digging through my old harddisk, here's what I found:

The oldest is a track I made around 2004-2005 using Music 2000 on Playstation.
https://soundcloud.com/esoksstash%2Fm2k02
Next is a remix from 2011. I only have 1.7Ghz Pentium PC at that time. Got to keep the CPU low and so most of these synths comes from FL's 3xOsc (and that even still take my CPU into full load)

That's great. I got started with Music 2000 myself (Well the original 'Music') for the original Playstation back in the 90's
They were just glorified midi sequencers really with a load of one shot samples, but it was amazing for the time!

(Sounds like I found a 128 kbps version of an absolute monster classic...)
Believe it or not, that was the .wav file I got back. Of course Youtube compression and all that, but, yeah, I REALLY sucked at mixing back then 😄

Amazing indeed. It helped me switching to proper DAW so much easier.

Thank you 🙏

Hearing this brings lots of memories of playing the Live mode 👍 I can recall the bassline from techno riff folder, and the melody from trance riff folder. The rest I don't remember anymore, hehe.

I've been trying to relocate the full track of this for ages, it's probably one of my favorites of my own remixes.
So far, I've only been able to find it one someone else's set from 2010 (hence the set rip.)

It's from the Coll & Tolland Crystal Clouds 7th Birthday 2010 mix. Now I believe 'Tolland' may be Hugh Tolland of 'Kayosa & Tolland'
I've tried getting in touch via Twitter to see if he still has the track (from TWELVE years ago - I've got some fucking audacity! 😄 )
No reply yet sadly - does anyone know him? :p
