Long time since I uploaded this (and even longer since I made it). The goal was to keep this 100% true to the original with the sounds (because I love 'em), just make it ambient. It's shit, but still kinda works for me haha.

This was when I found a guitar riff preset, and had so much fun with it. It's nowhere near done, but I still think it has massive potential.

One of the tracks I'm most proud of...stylistically. Still love the ideas to bits, and even though it sounds crap I still think it's one of the best things I made.

This tune is 20 years old now 🥵

You better believe I'm working on a 20th anniversary mix! 😄
I never mistook you for a beginner, but I also did not think you were an old-timer and a legend of the genre! :D

Can't wait to hear how you've improved it though.

You are probably not going to like this - trance 2.0. I wrote is as a first attempt to make trance on purpose more than a year ago. Couldn't get the mixing and mastering right and the bassline was always shitty, it was written good but I never managed to put the right sound on it. Still not quite happy with it, but it's way better than it was.

Edit: I meant to mention I just reworked the mixing and mastering of the song...

Digging through my old harddisk, here's what I found:

The oldest is a track I made around 2004-2005 using Music 2000 on Playstation.

Next is a remix from 2011. I only have 1.7Ghz Pentium PC at that time. Got to keep the CPU low and so most of these synths comes from FL's 3xOsc (and that even still take my CPU into full load)

Wait you are Esok? You made a bunch of great stuff in the past

About 15 years ago I produced lots of tracks just for fun (roughly from 2005 to 2008). Exploring the possibilities of Fruity Loops and famous old VST’s as Albino, Vanguard and the Superwave Trance. I created about 50 complete tracks and uncountable ideas.

Just reopening this projects after so many years is so much fun, although it took lots of times to trace the original drum samples (after switching computers for 4 times). I recorded some unfinished projects and made a compilation video of 8 of those 'playing' sessions with projects 'to finish someday'

This video contains 8 ideas, which are not worked out yet. Only the main patern exists, so no automation, no intro's, the buildups in this video are spontaneous... But they give an idea of what the tracks could sound like 😉 The problem is I'm pretty good in the creative process, love to write melodies and choose the right sounds. But I'm not so good in terms of mastering and use of FX. I'm a great writer, an average producer but a bad engineer. So if anyone feels the need to work those tracks out (together with me of course), just contact me. Enjoy!

Lots of potential in these! You're a great writer indeed, shame if the rest keeps you from finishing these tracks.

Ahh Marnix. Great to see you on here.

How cool would it be if we had a collab? The first one is great. My favorite is probably the one on 5:50. Great melody.

Hi there, always nice to see familiar people here!

Collab sounds awesome, I really like the overall sounds of your tracks, it could be a great combination with my melodies :)
Let's talk about that further in private.

That melody at 5:50 was inspired by 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' at bit, and I'm quit happy about it, it's stays in your head and sounds familiar.
Sometimes I wonder if there isn't a known song that sounds like it and I'm secretly inspired.

About that 17:30 track, funny you mention that. Actually it's a melody I created halfway the 90s in Fasttracker, way before Tiësto's rise ;)
I used the original Fasttracker files for importing it in Fruity Loops, I have about 10 projects imported that way, and still some to do.

For other reference, check also my 2 artist mixes that are available on my SoundCloud page:

Except for 1 track I have all the original FLP/midi files still available, but I lost lots of VST's through time unfortunately :(
