I made an excellent financial decision this morning and bought Final Cut Pro on the App Store, when I’m still in debt for other things. But hey, my credit was increased lately so

Thing is: I still haven’t been charged for it yet. And I work for my credit card’s company doing customer service, so I know a thing or two about how it’s supposed to work - the transaction should show as pending immediately, and it hasn’t. I double checked this with my colleagues even, and I downloaded the thing this AM before I left for work.

So I may or may not have acquired a video editing suite worth $400 for (almost?) free today

Does Final Cut Pro still exist lol? I thought it died of after it was replaced by adobe and resolve as industry standards..

Sounds like terrible priorities you have there mate. Why are you spending $400 for something you can't afford, and don't really need? Not my intention to judge you, but can you explain?

I didn't get the job at Nintendo they told some stupid BS excuse saying that it looked like I was really keen on Cybersecurity and that's where I wanted to go. Yes, but I could also move into gaming as well if I wanted in the company and surely the company is probably looking for people to help them with their cybersecurity issue. Anyway, I blasted an email to the recruiter who set me for the interview saying that it was a waste of my time.

To be fair I've had my eye on that for a while, and I knew I wanted to get into video editing at some point, so in my defense it's a BIT more than a frivolity. As for why now, chalk it up to impatience I suppose. I had one of my colleagues tell me flat out that so long as I make at least minimum payment and keep my total utilization low my credit is fine; just a question of how much interest I want to pay. I know I really should draw the line here tho, so I'm freezing it for the foreseeable future.

edit: aw shit I found the pending charge. Oh well, I’ll deal, and at least I have a new piece of kit to learn.

When I was going to that little village in the mountains, I was not sure if buying some land (or a ruined house) was something I only thought I wanted.

Having come back, I am more sure than ever, in spite of all cons, and there are many. There is only one pro, and that is...peace. I came back yesterday, and ever since I have not stopped thinking about that place.

I was unable to find something to buy though. What I did find was great, but one of the owners won't sell. That won't stop me trying.

I have to say it will be a great retreat if you could get a place.

Obviously depending on its potential condition now or in the future…..Imagine if it has the capacity for a small music studio. TF-R artists retreat ? Those who use it could chip in money wise once it is purchased or when built (or before if any of us guys can contribute cash to initial land/property ) - just a thought.

$400 isn't terrible. In the US I would have applied for a credit card with 0% interest financing for the first 12-18 months (ex. capital one), and then tried to finish paying it off before interest kicks in. That's actually what I'm doing right now for my gaming laptop - I will finish paying it off in December

Toyota GR86 once they stop using the Subaru engine and start using an actual Toyota engine. There's something oddly appealing about a light 2-door sports car that can handle corners very well. It's surprisingly affordable, and I can see myself getting it as a second vehicle/weekend car once I finish paying off my car. I would want to get the premium trim with black lug nuts/wheel locks, all-weather mat package, GR air filter, GR appearance package, performance exhaust, and full-front paint protection film.

Cool cars though. For myself, I'll probably be looking for something with off-road capabilities that I could use daily. My Alfa is just too low.

I thought of maybe Dacia Duster, but I think the build quality and interior are nothing special. Suzuki Jimny would be too small (even the announced 5dr version) and have more or less the same problems. Isuzu D-Max and similar Nissan/Mitsubishi counterparts are much nicer, but very pricey. And paying 40k for a vehicle that I might damage while going off-road or in the city is crazy to me. Toyotas are even pricier. It's going to be a tough choice in 2 years.

I think it would be a good second car if my daily driver needs to be in the shop, and it would be fun for longer trips or for winding, twisty roads in the mountains. I would want a real Toyota engine because the Subaru engine runs into issues during hard right turns in the track. The GR86 also handles better, since it's a small and light sports car.
I realized I probably wouldn't want to *own* a large muscle car like the Mustang or Challenger, since they feel more like heavy boats.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't take an Alfa Romeo off-road. Are there any pickup trucks in Serbia?

Unlucky man. It’s understandable being angry but if it ever happens again, maybe don’t send an email like that afterwards. Im just wondering if any other Nintendo jobs arise, you might find they don’t look kindly at your application. Although if they are ran badly no one will notice that you are the guy who complained. Although alternatively they might respect what you said and consider the points. If they’re all full of BS tho theyd be a shit company to work for. ( unless the moneys hot and the staff are tolerable)

Alternatively, they might have been very specific about what they wanted. If so they should have seen your intentions in your application section where you write up to 500 words on what you can offer the company.

Well, the pickup culture isn't that big here as it is in the United States of Murica, but more and more people are using them for work. We aren't Burundi or some other poor country, we don't ride around in horse carriages. But yeah, for off-roading, a lifted pickup would definitely be a good choice.

I'm not too interested in taking the car to the track. However, as a sporty two-door car, it doesn't live up to the potential of being track-capable... which is what you would expect from a car of this type.

Supposed to have a job interview in a couple of minutes, with some company I'm not even interested in. They approached me so out of good will I decided to accept, but I'm going in with 0 expectations and a hefty sum that would make me reconsider them.

Just glad to see things might be moving forward again in our specific field and that there might be employment opportunities. It's been very tough this year.
