What's not to like?
Her being completely devoid of character for one.. she came across to me as just an empty vessel to say and act whatever the powers behind her want her to say and act.

A bland, spreadsheet touting, managerial class person you see representing Deloitte et all.

And is Trump an inspiring leader of the nation?
Actually yes.. at least more than Kamala in terms of showmanship. You could put Kamala in every country as pm or president and she would be as forgettable in victory or defeat.

Trump, despite his myriad flaws and crassness is in contrast almost an avatar of “old school Americanism”. If that makes sense.. anything from unapologetically hugging the American flag, to the ray-croc esq disses of his opponent and fist pumping “fight, fight, fight” right after being shot.

At least that’s how he in contrast to Kamala, and purely in the field of inspirational character hallmarks, comes across to me.

Maybe Harris' partisan rhetoric cost her votes, I don't know? I'd say refusing to talk to the public in general was more damaging. I feel like other things played a much bigger role anyway. Also it's a different voter base. I expect much more from the Democrats. They actually have the ability to rise above it and win with ideas, which Republicans have been void of for generations. Kennedy didn't indulge in the partisan mud slinging even for a second and converted so many of the left. They are just out of touch honestly, like really clueless.

To use a football term, it looks like it was a mistake for the Dems to 'Play the man instead of the ball' so to speak.

It's easy to lose sight of a lot of issues when trying to make sense of the circus that surround someone like Trump and in doing so it looks like they've lost sight of the 'regular Joe' on the street and their worries on things like the cost of living and immigration.

The "Anyone but Trump" tactic was realistically never going to work for more than one election and they absolutely dropped the ball by letting the reanimated corpse of Joe Biden try and run again. I think most people expected him to be a 'placeholder' and the fact that he tried to run again, despite clearly being in decline pulled the rug from under the campaign.

Getting a younger, charismatic candidate up front from the off and we might have been looking at a different story here.

Hoping a lot of the more concerning policies he was talking about (particularly the P2025 stuff) was just bluster to get the more nationalistic people voting.

Regardless, 4 years for the Dems to sort their shit out and Trump can swan off into the sunset and maybe we can all get some sense or normality restored ;).

I don't know if I agree fully with this. She came across as stately and a measured contrast to Trump, but she basically refused any form of long-form unscripted and unvetted interview. Trump and Vance hit every big podcast and media interview and talked freely and for hours. When Harris did her short CNN one (questions known before hand) it was an absolute train-wreck. If she had any strong and well developed beliefs and principles to what govern her leadership/strategy in how to run the country it never came through, not even once. Eventually even she degraded into nothing but attacks and partisan rhetoric, like Trump does. It was terrible to see a candidate avoid the public space as aggressively as she did, while the other side embraced it. Listening to RFK through this process and his articulation and ability to define a vision was incredible (even if you don't agree with it).
This pretty much sums up my entire experience with Kamala - I didn't want Trump to win at all, but holy hell, Kamala was awful when it truly counted. In the end it was nowhere near a close call and you could feel that leading up to the election.

The dems courted the female vote at the cost of alienating basically all young male voters. The dems made so many mistakes in this entire election. When I saw all high profile celebrities backing Harris, I just knew she didn't stand a chance. Most of Trump's voter base view wealthy Hollywood celebrities as too out of touch from the lives of normal, ordinary American people.

Also, Kamala just wasn't a good candidate in general
She wasn't given the presidency that's where they faulted I think. Joe Abe simpson Grandpa biden refused to stepdown and let her be President for a while so America did not vote for her.

Don't worry with what's happening to Hollywood they will run out of money just like the Colorado river has become a dry desert.

At the same time, the mere existence of Taylor Swift scared (most of) the Republicans so much that even Trump felt the need to post this on his platform:

The entire thing becomes a lot more reasonable when you consider the fact that Taylor has a surprisingly big impact on the US economy, but it's still so incredibly funny to be reminded of the fact that a lot of popular far-right politicians have been anti-Swifties at some point in their lives.
