Is that legit?
Probably, remember that the population isn't evenly spread across the country. The largest cities in the US (such as LA, NYC and Vegas) can be found within the blue districts, meaning that maps like these can give a wrong impression when it comes to election results.

A lot of those are large rural counties with small populations. The blue spots are basically just cities. In my state, Indianapolis is one of the four blue spots, with the other being the county of Indiana University - Bloomington. The two other counties are all the way to the north, with one of them bordering Chicago.

A lot of Latinos are catholic and socially conservative. Latino men were one of the demographics most affected by "men falling behind." That, and Latinos are closer to the problem of illegal immigration.
Webb County, a democratic stronghold since 1912, finally flipped red for this election.

has the HOP been called yet by the way? like whats the prognosis, if he reels that in he basically has a full-house. Presidency, Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme court. And didn't he actually pick up the popular vote this time?

He picked up everything. It was a complete swipe by the right. It's... kinda bad ass to witness, tbh.

It all depends on whether or not the Republicans keep the filibuster in the Senate. Mcconnell says they will but I have my doubts (also how much sway does his opinion carry anyway these days?). If they remove it, they can reshape the gov't in any way the right-leaning supreme court deems acceptable. This has especially big implications for tax policy, as they typically work within the constraints of reconciliation. Though it has implications for everything else as well. While the Trump campaign distanced themselves from P2025, expect lots of that document to become law. A lot of it is not popular though, so it will be interesting to see how far they go.

My vote was to protect this from happening. I'm in Cali though so most of what they might do outside of tax law and impacts to the global economy will not affect me at all. Some of it might help me! Seeing who voted for this is a bit baffling even though I understand whye - good luck y'all. A lot of people just voted against their self interests and are about to enter the 'find out' phase. If things go really sideways though, they'll still find a way to blame democrats I suspect. The USA in unfortunately a a bit broken.

The United Nation Security Council has stated many times that the threat of nuclear war is the highest it's been in decades. Mearshiemer, Chomsky and Sachs have articulated this warning in depth. These are some the greatest minds of all time when it comes the topic of foreign policy.

All three of these men agree unanimously that the current war with Russia is a deliberate result of US neo-conservative ideology, that currently operates through the DNC and their administration. The goal is purely to further the US as the regional hegemon, and increase power by eroding Russia's military capabilities. There is absolutely no altruistic motivation behind it and nothing to do with Ukraine sovereignty. This is the POV of the worlds leading experts. In their assessment, the US is responsible both for the inception and continuation of the war.

Complete madness. We are playing with nuclear war, for what? Absolutely nothing. Tarrifs, abortion, immigration... these all pail insignificance to a near trillion dollar conflict that is ravaging lives, crushing the poor through inflation and opening the possibility to global destruction. Whatever it takes to stop this should be done.

While Harris celebrated her endorsements from right-wing war criminals and dialed up antagonistic rhetoric, Trump/Vance talked consistently about the need for it's end. They brought in Gabbard and Kennedy, two huge anti-war advocates to their side. It's a god damn blessing for everyone on this earth they got in, bringing with it the possibility of true deescalation.

As long as the admin doesn't destroy a free America over the next four years. With three houses, the SC, and a general lack of integrity, they could do a lot of lasting damage. Time will tell eh?

I get where you are coming from but. You seem to make a lot of assumptions about who Trump's loyalties really align with, assigning him rational actor status, assuming him one who acts on the evidence of the top geopolitcal minds. Even if you don't come to the same conclusion based on the same evidence, Trump wanting to stop the conflict may be for corrupt reasons. There is a mountain of evidence that shows his interests aligned with destabilizing Ukraine, and alignment with Putin on geopolitical issues. Hell he was impeached for it. Eric Trump was vocal in the past they got a lot of money from Russia when no one else would loan to them. Aren't you the least bit curious why Trump and Russia are so aligned and what we do not know about this? Also, this may signal to China we won't do anything if they go for Taiwan. Belarus next? Why not? We're all spitballing here as nothing can be done to change our trajectory but. I have a lot of unanswered questions, and continue to be surprised people aren't a bit more suspicious of his motives based on his and his associate's actions.

Hmmm I think I prefer the. ‘Is trance dead thread’. Or ferry & Tiesto etc.

So many books predict an end to ‘most’ of the human race which I hoped were conspiracy theories dressed in spirituality. But made by very intelligent people who utterly belive what they are saying. Let’s hope they are mislead ey.

Adagio for strings….Ferry or Tiesto anyone?

- I’m off to the ‘Winchester’ till this all blows over

I think world leaders are freaking out right now because no one expected Trump to win again. Trump's campaign did a very good job at encouraging voters to show up to the election booths.

That is interesting. My wife just suggested an issue might have been men not voting for a lady, never has there been a female president of the US. Then I saw this chart and in a way am surprised it was as high as 44%. I take it the 2% not mentioned are trans people? Strange they didn’t chart trans gender if that’s the case? If the person didn’t reveal they were trans …or the poll counters couldn’t tell (which would make sense) … why is there a 2% difference?
Although if it implies a trans person is directly taken with their newer identity… ie someone who’s now identifying as a woman is counted in the female count… then that’s a real good thing... But … there’s still 2% missing on the chart for some reason?

Edit: Just noticed theres also a 1% gap in white/hispanic/black?

I know some kinds of charts take account of person error or potential inaccuracies in counting / human error… but is that what’s happening here?

It’s part of the main reason why I was more pro trump then Harris, even though I expected her to win it.

that said I agree with @SaltAcidFatHeatAcid in the sense that trump might not turn out to be the saviour. He could aside from personal interest in Ukraine only be interested in preliminary stopping the conflict and as such making Ukraine less of a money spender in his term, whilst at the same time being onboard in bringing down Russia in the long run. But we will see. Pausing the conflict is a step up from the likes of Cheney at least.

Most probably yes.. these things almost always take place in said surveys/stats. It’s well within the margins. “I don’t know/ don’t want to tell” is also an answer.

it is interesting to see how Caucasian and elderly across the board voted less for trump then the last time round. Usually they tend to lean more red then blue

@SaltAcidFatHeatAcid What ever Trumps motivations are with Russia they do not involve playing with nuclear war and costing the US near a trillion dollars. That is enough for me, and should be reason for thanks. It doesn’t take a foreign policy genius to realize this war is insane and should be stopped, and I believe that he, Vance, Gabbard and Kennedy all are sincere in wanting to end it. If Trump wants to form a cosy relationship with Russia then so be it, much better than an antagonistic one that brings nothing but bloodshed and global economic disaster.

It’s not about Trump being a savior, he simply offers some possibility of deescalation - a stark contrast to the Democrats in their current form. We'll take it. He’s the better choice in regards to the most serious and consequential situation the US and world faces.

You mentioned Taiwan. It’s the same situation as Russia: historical agreements not to militarize the region being thrown to the wind as the neo-cons pump weapons and military presence at the doorstep of a country that is in its right to value its security. Especially against an antagonistic entity like the US. Again, this is the view of all experts. The US exasperates this conflict for reasons of its own hegemony, not altruism.

Trump is antagonistic to China too, but it’s almost always through the economic lens. Good or bad, competing economically is fine. Competing militarily is madness. How many decades of catastrophic wars is it going to take before US citizens start reflecting on its foreign policy. War criminals wreck the US economy and globe and the Left chooses to abandon opposition and critical thinking on the matter. It’s an astonishing turnaround from the bulwark they used to be to these things and a sad state of affairs they've essentially forced us to rely on Trump for the answer... but this is the reality of the situation.
