I dunno what to say except this is my EXACT taste in music, thank you. fun fact about the moog line in the middle: it only lasts for 32 bars out of pettiness on my part because @Narel hated that it cut off so quickly and I just want to see his head explode
lol

And he didn’t let me remix it because I would deliberately make a verbose 10 minute ‘ambient’ version consisting of multiple modulation's, but on only the Moog riff.

well its the same modern dark "techy"prog with a crescendo and drop back to the same stuff before it....head this 100 times before...

another midde-of-the-road-production

btw @Narel i've liked several of your stuff like assonance, baseline (listened to this many times),and your full-lenght was also a good release overall. So theres still hope ;)

I get it, it’s a bit like me with a lot of trance 2.0 and many new remixes of classics. So I bite my tongue. Just be a bit nicer dude. I know that sounds a bit fluffy but people put their all into these things and that needs to be recognised.
Most producers I know, even clearly brilliant and successful ones, have monumental self doubt.

I mean, no I didn't. You bring it on your own self. Everyone is absolutely entitled to their own opinion and I don't mind people not liking my stuff, but every single time you choose to do it even though you don't have to, while risking/offering absolutely nothing of your own. Once or twice is fine but you are relentless with it, way beyond the point of just sounding annoying and bitter. I know you'll probably go the selective memory route but I've seen countless almost identical comments from you on various tracks where you complain about the drums being robotic or whatever. Again fine that you don't like it but we really don't need to hear your thoughts on everything. I found I was a lot happier in life once I started just focussing on the things that I do like.

The existence of harsh critics is just the nature of art. You can’t have such powerful positive emotions with something like music and not expect the opposite the exist too. Ying and ying so to speak. Is there anything more emotive than music? The strength on either end is in a direct relationship. Can’t deny however that focusing on the positives is the correct path forward for everyone in life, or at the very least making sure the ratio between the criticism and positivity is balanced in favor of the latter. Daysleeper you probably get stick because at least for the case of music it feels that ratio is too strong in one way.

yeah I don't wanna keep piling on because I feel like I've said my piece now. again, I really don't mind people not liking my stuff, i'm fairly used to that, but this really isn't even about me, it's about almost every other producer. i'm making a lot of assumptions but don't make negativity your whole persona and then hide behind "well music is divisive", all that does is show me that you're enjoying this on some level and i'd rather everyone just be happy
