Just took a listen to this one today while driving...absolutely loved it!!!

One of the albums of the year, currently sharing the #1 spot with Electronic Arts by Sleep D. Wonderful ode to the 90s.

All tracks are awesome, but I'll rank my favourites:

4. Overview Effect
3. Paradigm Shift
2. Utopia Hz
1. Way of the Compass

You can find the album on most distribution platforms, here's a BC link only:

Sounds really good sonically, musically though I find it a little lacking, despite some cool touches here and there. structurally and asrrangement are a bit repetitiv and underdeveloped. like its staying in the same "realm" to long bar after bar and it becomes a little tedious after awhile. Its like its both tries to be sophisticated but at the same time its too basic. Especially the beat/drum arrangements are boring to me. saying that there some nice pad-work, swells, and acid and all that snuff. probably not something i would revisit for its music alone, but more like if im mood for an ambient housey dreamy thing, and prolly works good in a set too.

I'm definitely feeling some Banco de Gaia vibes in my favs #3 and #1. What I love about some of Banco's works is that he takes very simple ideas, amazing synths and creates a 44-minute monster of a track. Just loops over 2 or 3 ideas in such a way that you get hypnotized and lose sense of time.

Of course, Banco de Gaia is Banco de Gaia. What I wanted to say is sometimes what you described can be is a strong point for me. But I have definitely felt the same at certain points when I was listening and wouldn't completely disagree with what you wrote. I still think the album is very good though.

Fantastic album. It doesn't break musical boundries but it solidly delivers well produced tracks and an album you can keep coming back to. There are no bad tracks.

Been enjoying this one a lot while working. Really nice sound design and some cool ideas in there. Agree with comment above that musically it doesnt do enough to really take me back in awe, but its a solid breakbeat album that can listen to quite a few times I think (already on about 7/8 play throughs). Probably quite sweet in a set too. 7.7/10 for me.

Piano mix and this one my favorite. Actually Way of The Compass too is a lovely chillout track
