Why wouldn't it?

Isn't that we want ultimately for classics catalogue not to randomly disappear on Spotify just because a particular release has reached its contractual term with the existing label or they no longer exist to collect/pay royalties to heir artist's? Or risk with melody been recycled and it been released under a new artist name after they've changed a cord or two or nothing at all lmao, not sure if this was the case with Mo Chara / Rober Nickson - Spiral melody been ripped off by Ciaran/Ferry?

I'm just glad my favourite artist Paul Miller has already been approached by Armada campaign and not forgotten about when it comes to this topic & as a result Ascend was re releaed recently. Yeaah I agree this just gives them more excuse to remix a classic and re release new remix every year or so as clearly our scene has been running out of fresh ideas, this is their way to ensure the scene doesn't die off competely and if it does maybe they can release a house remix instead.

We don't hear new melodies like Steve morley sacred city 2008/2009 remix anymore its like 80% of producers forgot how to make trance with unique melody after the golden era passed and introduction of hammer trance started getting everyone's attention at the start like Photographer - Airport (trance 2.0) i feel like this track alone is responsible for why trance is the way it is today and rise of templates ever since.

Tbh I personally dnt trust any music streaming service/labels etc and this has always been at the back of mind, time to setup Plex media server using raspberry pie 4 or 5 with overheat protection or setup/invest in Nas if project pie fails.
Well, other labels have done it like Warner with Spinnin and for the same figure too.

Hmm. Maybe a little bit.

On the other hand, the magic of having a secret gem as mp3 on your computer, on a cd, or on a vinyl disc, that is NOT available on Spotify is also something.

Plus... I am REALLY tired of endless shitty remixes that Armada puts out on all the classics that they have in their catalog. They purchase old classics for their catalog, just to spam us with new crap remixes and keep all the money themselves. They monopolize the whole trance scene. It sucks balls.

I wish I never supported Armin by purchasing his albums/compilations all those years ago if this was his agenda and give the illusion of creativity and freedom when it comes to trance music. I sold off all of his cds and compilations I had. His recent albums/compilations aren't even worth pirating that's how bad they are or listening on Spotify or Youtube. The worst part and the most disappointing part is that all that garbage they have been releasing is going to labelled and tagged as "Trance" when it's more EDM and Future Trance and Big Room EDM and Electro House and Guetta style Pop EDM so it's going to divide the fanbase even further and make people more confused.

with this way of thinking, if in 10 years ChatGPT v10 aka SkyNet would decide to clear Spotify servers to store some android porn there instead, you streaming addicts will lose all the music

I mean, it's okay for consuming modern releases but I wouldn't count on it for classics anyway

Most of the tracks were already released? Doesn't look any promising :X
that's weird indeed, at least he could've hired a bunch of fellow Armada actual producers to make a dozen of new tunes

this one could be called 'Best of Armin 2023' and it would say it all in a way lol

also, releasing an album mid-January.. I don't think he treats it any serious, just a lazy way to make some extra $$$ from his fanbase

That's probably what he probably did just hired a bunch of ghost producers to make it for him. It's really sad to see him make this kind of stuff. I wonder if he really likes the stuff he is making or just putting on a façade or phony show.

well he's touring much less in recent years yet I guess he's used to a certain income per year so he's obviously trying to gain as much as possible from 'his' music so why not sell the same stuff twice if fanboys are willing to get those, whether he enjoys it or not, that's job. we have 'business techno' term for almost a decade already so that kind of a business trance

Looks that way. Kinda disappointed in the track list and amount of tracks on the album. I was hoping for more exclusive material. On a brighter note, the tracks that have been released are(at least in my opinion) better than many of the tracks on his last album.

We need to zoom in here on Evian Christ’s Revenchist album. (Quoted in the thread topic) It’s quite a hard album to describe. But a fascinating one to listen too. Let’s just say… it’s released on [Warp]. And I’m sure there’s a very good reason why.

interesting article here…
No thx.

Having read the comments on this thread, and always keen to listen to true trance lovers, I now commit to NEVER making a record with Steve Aoki or Timmy Trumpet.
