Having the remix on more and more.

Strange suggestion eh..

But have you ever considered doing a (concept) del agrada album?

But have you ever considered doing a (concept) del agrada album?

It takes a lot of talent and vision to pull it off. I don’t think I could do it.

I do think it would be very cool to have an album with say 12 tracks that suit together, but to call it a true ‘concept-album’, might be a step too far.

Who knows though. If you told me I would release Svenson-y classic sounding tracks on an actual respectable label, I would call you crazy probably. 😉

They sound great through crappy laptop speakers!

Alright, that didn't come out right.... I've only had the chance to listen to them through crappy laptop speakers and they sound great when doing so!

Nice to see it out! Noticed there's no Extended Mixes on Spotify this time, wonder if this will be the case for Borderline releases now going forward? (most 2023 releases do have Extended Mixes) :)

Yeah they started a few releases back with only the short ones on Spotify. It might have to do with the recent policy update from Spotify which makes them more evil and even less attractive for artists and labels.

I use Spotify myself so I do find it a shame but I do understand it.

Other streaming platforms (Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer...) have no extended version, not just Spotify.
I actually think it's due to policy updates from Black Hole. Maybe you can ask Activa what's going on.

I've seen a lot of tracks on Spotify where the initial release only had short mixes, but extended ones were added a couple of weeks later. Hopefully that will be the case here as well.

I know that's what the Armada Labels do, Extended Mix comes 4 weeks later on other platforms :)

What's the point behind that? People who listen to radio mixes probably don't listen to extended versions anyway (cause too long!). So why not drop them all at the same time?
Personally i don't listen to radio edits. From some tracks the extended versions are completely missing from Spotify btw.

That's mostly to push buy extendeds off Beatport which is more profitable for the labels, unless they're in the golden pool on Spotify with its algorithms pushing their stuff everywhere.

For trance labels Beatport sales is still an important asset.

Thank you :) In the mean time the Mirage remix was also played by Stoneface & Terminal in their show, and by Dave Pearce in his show.

Edit:

Tbh, I have zero problems with it. I think it has some sort of nostalgic value too. Like... as if you found the track from an old compilation cd.

Trance always had radio edits in it's popular time. Stuff from Rank 1, Ferry, Tiesto etc.

It's the reason I try to really make a proper "radio edit", and not just fade in fade out or whatever.

Yes, i used to listen to them too of course and had they occasional Hitzone CD etc.. They even had video's sometimes and made it into the top 40. So i understand they have a purpose but that doesn't seem to be happening anymore is it? So it's probably just to push up streams? Same reason pop songs seems to be getting shorter. I rarely listen to the normal radio, do they even play trance music like back then ?

No, there’s no trance on Dutch radio. But I do like the short edits to use in a playlist in lets say the car, sports, showering, in a playlist to put on during a party.

There’s lots of situations for me when a 9-min version is just not appropriate.
