Looks like I'm in for a treat for the 3rd of October. Armin is going to give a show in our hometown to celebrate that we were freed from the Spaniards 450 years ago. So going to try really hard to be part of it.

I've been to numerous shows of him when he was in town and don't want to miss this.

Unfortunately the article is in Dutch and it's only an announcement. But truly exited to have the opportunity to see him performing at home again.

Armin van Buuren geeft show tijdens 450 jaar Leidens Ontzet: “Het feest van het jaar” - 3 October Vereeniging

Copied the text in Google translate (to lazy to do it myself lol)

Preparations for the Relief of Leiden are in full swing. This year, Leiden's Relief is extra special, because it is exactly 450 years ago that Leiden was relieved from the Spanish. The 3 October Association and the municipality of Leiden therefore want to celebrate this edition bigger than ever, including a special role for DJ and Leiden resident Armin van Buuren.
“For me personally, this is always the party of the year,” says Van Buuren. “The fact that all of Leiden celebrates freedom together is what makes this such a special celebration.”

This year the Leidens Ontzet program is more extensive and diverse in design than in previous years. With plenty of celebration to remember, and of course also room for commemoration. On behalf of the 3 October Vereeniging, chairman of the Jubilee Committee Jurgen van der Velden is closely involved in the organization: “As a Vereeniging we are extremely proud that we can collaborate with our own Armin and organize a spectacular event together. ”

Van Buuren did not have to think long about his contribution to 450 years of 3 October. “Leiden is the city where I grew up, the city where I live and the city that allows me to do what I do and be who I am.” What exactly Van Buuren's role in the festivities is “will remain our secret for the time being,” says Van der Velden. “We are going to surprise Leiden, I can say that.”

^ don’t you think it will be 1 hour EDM Armin? Usually it’s not exactly ‘Asot-Armin’ on such events…

It's not even close to an ASOT but the fact he's making time to have a show at home is something special.
And usually it's just a 1 maybe 2 hour set at the end of the evening with some guest dj's.
Not going to expect much of the old Armin, but I like him as an artist and as person.

As I'm writing this it occurs to me that the 3rd of October is on a Thursday this year, so there might be a slim chance it's going to be a ASOT episode since and if so that would be very special.

On October 19th, Blueprint Events hosts another day of trance in Manchester.

With multiple R&D / Borderline artists this will be a special one. John Dopping & Alan Ruddick, Glynn Alan, Aeon Shift, Grant Trowbridge.

And yes, the line-up includes myself as well! 😁😁😁

I'm gonna be playing at this and it's my last ever UK gig. I'll also give you the scoop that me and Sinful Biz have a collab that we signed a couple of months ago, I'm sure you'll hear it on both floors

Anyone going to Luminosity this year? I got the full 4-day package and I'm really excited for Enigma State and The Digital Blonde as well as the 3hrs Anjunabeats and Lost Language Classics sets 😁

If you got a place to sleep 😜 It’s impossible every year to find something that’s not ridiculously priced. And the tickets aren’t cheap either. And a train to Zandvoort and back another € 60.

Then you’ll need sone festival food and drinks… if aiming for multiple days (Friday and Sunday would be my picks this year. Enigma State indeed.) … I’d have to spend like 400-500 euro, and this is the scenario with affordable place to stay. Hundreds more with hotel prices these days. It’s ridiculous.

sooo I end up not going every year. It’s simply so much money, with the risk of standing in the rain… 🧐

I chose to stay 4 nights (Thursday to Monday) in Haarlem spread across 2 hostels, which cost me around €200 in total. Bernie's Beach club is (somehow) easily accessible by bus from there and I won't have to pay for any trips on Thursday, Friday and Monday thanks to StudentOV. Hadn't really thought of drinks but I can easily survive on just water (and Sprite if I feel like it) so I'm not expecting to spend more than €650 for the entire festival.

As for the weather, no rain is expected but I do hope it's not too hot...
