Yep. Looking forward to this. And an honour to take the decks after Airwave 🙌🏻

Anyone going?

I have two events in sight:

Tomorrow: Zeezout Festival in Amsterdam. Great line-up with Superstrings (some lovely classics), but also looking forward to Narciss who nicely balances between club/ trance and techno. Such a wonderfull versatile DJ. Also hope to see a bit of Spray, who sometimes mixes in an some nice trance

Next week: Lief Festival in Utrecht. More techno house and techhouse oriented, but some techno dj’s are really nice in mixing in a lot of melodic, deep or energetic trance stuff like Carmen Lisa and Amber Broos.

So yesterday I witnessed Superstrings perform and it was really nice. They played some great tracks like:

LSG - Netherworld
Weekend Players - Into The Sun (Riva Remix)
Ron Hagen & Pascal M - Song of the Sirens
Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave (Reversed Twister Remix)

overall a really nice set, but it’s still strange to see 5! people in a booth.

Best sets of the day were from Narciss and Anetha

Last week, I finally got to see Chicane live at Motion club in Bristol. He doesn't do many live sets, so as a long-time fan, I've been wanting to see him for ages. I'm so glad I finally had the chance.

I was worried the audience might be mostly 40+, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'd say the average age was around 30-35. I was also concerned he'd mostly play melodic, low-tempo tunes that weren't really danceable (which would have still be fine by me, but maybe not for the crowd). Instead, he did a fantastic job. Most of the tunes were his own, melodic, but always in a club-friendly edit. There were still some long melodic breakdowns (thankfully), and the crowd loved them!

Of course, he played his two biggest classics (Offshore and Saltwater), but most of the set was recent or super-recent material. Kudos to Nick!

In short: a great DJ set, great music, great crowd, and a great night. Totally worth it.
